Type Locality and Naming

Sichuan Province Regional Stratigraphic Table Compilation Group was named in 1978. The named section is located in Eduozhuo West, Xionglong Township, Hexi District, Xinlong County, Sichuan Province.

Lithology and Thickness

The overall appearance is the same as that of the underlying Lamaya Fm [= dark gray quartz sandstone, feldspar quartz sandstone, interbedded with black carbonaceous slate and silty slate]

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

The pebbled coarse sandstone and conglomerate at the bottom are in unconformable contact with the dark gray hard sandy quartz sandstone at the top of the underlying Lamaya Fm.

Upper contact

Regional extent

The group is not widely distributed, only in Eduozhuo, Xionglong Township, Xinlong County, with the most complete outcropping between the Yingzhuniang and Rilunniang mountain passes, with a thickness of 490 m.
